Hi {{first_name|there}},

Since starting JumpLead in April, I've posted on average four times a week on LinkedIn. That came to 101 posts by 20 September.

Since I started on 12 April, those posts have brought in 1,301,677 impressions. The only way I got there was consistency. Showing up every week, bad-performing posts and all.

I've enjoyed doing it, and I've learnt so much from the process.

The honest reality is that the run was full of bad performing posts and a few gems.

Out of the 93 posts with recorded numbers, the median was 1,344 impressions.

Over a third of them, 34 posts, didn't reach 1,000 impressions. Eleven didn't even reach 500, including posts that scraped 271, 335 and 356 impressions.

At the other end, 16 posts passed 10,000 impressions, 8 passed 50,000, and the best hit 239,014 on 26 August.

Looking closely at what flopped and what landed taught me a few clear lessons from the numbers:

  1. Links in the copy kill reach. Posts with a link in the body never passed 3,200 impressions.

  2. Talking about yourself hurts. Posts that named JumpLead made up 67% of my low-performing posts, against just 27% of the big ones. People care about practical ideas they can use, not brand mentions.

  3. Timing matters. Every single post that passed 10,000 impressions went out in a narrow window between 08:30 and 08:59.

  4. Proven ideas can be remade. That best post on 26 August was a remake. It took the exact same seven lessons from my 7 May post (which made 92,202 impressions) and re-formatted them 16 weeks later from numbered paragraphs into one-line arrows.

  5. Tested structures work. Taking a famous sales book and turning it into seven practical lessons worked every single time I tried it: 103k impressions for Ziglar, 155k for Sandler, and 64k for Pink.

That is sales.

Most cold calls, cold emails, and outreach messages don't land. The majority get ignored or passed over. A few hit the mark.

You only learn from taking the chance, and that learning is where the magic happens and growth can take charge.

You cannot work out what works by debating it in an internal meeting. You only discover what lands with real buyers by turning up consistently, doing the work, and studying what the data shows you.

Every bad performing post was simply feedback on what to change next time. In sales, the teams that build predictable revenue aren't the ones who avoid the misses. They are the ones who stay in the game long enough to learn from them.

If you've been tempted to start posting, take this as your sign. Every post is another chance to be seen by the exact people you want to sell to.
